All models come with a durable polyglass mineral tank and high-impact brine tank to stand up to abuse.

Strong corrosion resistant materials like polyethylene and Noryl are used for parts in contact with water or salt. The Avian UltraCv has Nema 3R electrical rating for installation inside or outside the home.

Avian UltraCv's Demand Control System

Water is softened or conditioned by replacing hard ions like magnesium and calcium with softer sodium or potassium ions. Water softners must be regenerated regularly, renewing their ability to remove hardness from water. The average water softner is set to regenerate a certain number of times per week. Once it's programmed, it will regenerate regularly regardless of how much water is used. In your home water, usage can vary drastically from day to day or week to week. As a result, these systems must be programmed to regenerate often enough to ensure that during high demand periods, the softner will not be depleted, wasting water and regenerant.

The Avian UltraCv regenerates based on the total volume of water used The amount of water used is metered and compared to the amount of capacity remaining in the refiner. If it doesn't need to regenerate, it will wait another day. This intelligent design makes the Avian UltraCv a model of efficiency.

Power Loss = No Loss in Service

Similar style water softners with electronic settings run the risk of losing their program settings during a power outage. Their system's program settings would need to be reset, leaving you out of service until a technician arrives. Avian UltraCv's nonvolatile memory saves critical system settings, and diagnostic and history data indefinitely until power returns. The Avian UltraCv control incorporates the same solid-state technology used in many of your household appliances. This technology eliminates the need for mechanical timers with gears that wear out. This technology offers superior metering accuracy over mechanical controllers, measuring water flow from .25 - 27 gpm, within 5%.

Durability Beyond Expectation

The Avian UltraCv Demand Control has undergone rigorous cycle testing, and features an operational pressure range from a minimum of 20 psi up to 125 psi

Reverse Flow Brining

The Avian UltraCv also employs counter current regeneration technology. By regenerating the media bed in an up-flow direction, refined water brine comes in contact with the most highly conditioned zone of the bed first. This simple change increases efficiency up to 25%.
